Language shapes our reality, and language is visual.
My paintings are a search for an abstract visual language that responds to the emotional literacy I endeavor to build and expand within my life. Painting abstractly allows me to explore nuances both in visual form, line, and colour, as well as to delve deeper into my emotional responses to challenging life experiences. This non-representational approach allows for greater flexibility in potential meaning for others as well, since we all have different and unique emotional responses and reactions to our present and past life situations. The language in the titles I choose is similarly non-specific, as words are chosen to allow for openness in meaning. It is for the viewer to discover their own meaning from the piece.
Hi there!
With the current landscape shaped by the COVID-19 pandemic, we've made a few adjustments to our shops and our offerings. These changes are in place to keep our staff and our communities as safe as possible.
Have a gander, grab some donuts, and if you have any questions, check out our FAQs or reach out via hey@cartems.com. Thanks!
We only need to send emails when we actually need to, like your birthday. Or a new special. And we never share your info with anyone.
