Customer and staff safety is our #1 priority.
This includes our team wearing PPE during any and all handling of donuts, frequent hand washing and sanitation of surfaces, encouraged online (or else contactless, tap) payments. And ultimately, reducing our offerings to simplify crew operations so we can focus on: providing our best everyday flavours + add ons, increased sanitation, and delivery options.
As a customer, we ask that you practice social distancing when you come in to order / to pick up your order. No distance, no donuts, it's that simple! And if you are feeling sick, we kindly ask that you stay home and consider grabbing donuts another day! Donuts will be here for you when you are feeling 100%!
We have 2 brick and mortar shops in Vancouver, BC in the Downtown and Mount Pleasant districts. Come say hi, we can't wait to meet you!
We certainly do! Most of our everyday line up are Vegan (V). Our doughs are naturally vegan and many of our glazes are as well. Look for the (v) in stores or on our online shop!
We carry Gluten-Friendly donuts. And the majority of our Gluten-Friendly (GF) donuts are also Vegan (V) = V/GF Donuts!
Our V/GF donuts are baked and not fried to minimize cross contamination and to maximize the quality of the dough. And we always use separate tongs for these donuts.
That being said, while we try our best to avoid any contact with gluten, these donuts are made in the same facility as our gluten-full donuts! Therefore, we cannot guarantee that the donuts are entirely gluten free and we caution or advise against anyone with a moderate to severe allergy consuming these treats.
All our donuts are hand made fresh every day and have no preservatives or stabilizers, so we highly recommend eating them on the day purchased.
Surprisingly not. The donuts should be kept ambient (room temp), as refrigerating them can cause the doughnuts to dry out. As per above, they are best consumed on the day of purchase.
Unfortunately, our custom offerings are on temporary hold. Because we are currently a very small bakery team prepping, making, baking, glazing, boxing and handing out orders, we just don’t have the capacity (at this time) to make our custom offerings—like special flavours, writing on donuts, donut cakes and minis!
If your event is still a few weeks out, we recommend checking back in closer to the event or else keep an eye out on our social media channels (@cartemsdonuts).
Our minimum order is half a dozen. After that, donuts can be ordered in increments of 6 or 12. There is no minimum order for our letter donuts.

Advanced Orders need to be placed a minimum of 48-hour notice to allow our bakery team enough time to prep supplies, ingredients, dough, etc.
Please call your preferred shop for same day pickups. You can place a hold on up to 6 donuts for same day pick up! Anything over 6 donuts, we recommend placing a preorder (48 hour notice required).

Although we do not have in house delivery, we are partnered with FromTo as well as Skip the Dishes. We offer Skip the Dishes from each of our locations, with a 15min driving radius per shop. If one shop doesn't work for you, another might! Find out here:
If FromTo and Skip the Dishes don't work for you (based on your location or what you are looking to order), gift delivery service Wanderclose or local courier service, Novex are other alternatives.
Sadly we do not, as the quality and freshness is very important to us. Our donuts are made fresh daily, without the use of preservatives and stabilizers, therefore, they're best eaten within 6 hours. Even with express shipping, it is unlikely the donuts arrive to your destination within 24 hours. We wouldn't be holding true to our values of quality, fresh donuts if we were to ship them.
All of our donuts are made fresh at our Downtown location and therefore are picked up here! If you have placed a larger order, please hey@cartems.com for pickup instructions!

Most of the time, yes! We can make the following items 100% vegan: Donut orders (some everyday flavours and most specialty flavours), letter donut orders, and cake orders. We cannot, at this time, make our mini donuts vegan.

We host a number of Community Events*, such as Story Time Mornings, Open Mic Nights, and Exhibition Series, , to name a few. Come by for a donut and a good time, all are welcome!

Sign up is on a first come, first serve basis. List goes out at 6pm the night of. We encourage everyone to come early and stay to support the other artists. We post reminders in Cartems Open Mic Community Facebook page the day before.
Sure thing! Call ahead to the shop you are hoping to book a table at and ask to speak with the manager. Chances are, with enough notice we will be able to reserve a table for you and your group!*
